Fireside leads $1.5M seed in toxin-free cookware brand Cumin Co

Kitchenware startup Cumin Co has raised $1.5 million in its first institutional (seed) round, led by Fireside Ventures with participation from Huddle Ventures. Founded by ISB alumni Niharika Joshi and Udit Lekhi, the brand focuses on baby-food-safe, toxin-free cookware tailored to Indian kitchens.

Funds will be used to expand enamel-based coating manufacturing in India, bolster R&D, and widen the product lineup and D2C channels. With premium, health-first cookware still underpenetrated domestically, Cumin Co aims to carve a clean-label niche against mass-market incumbents and imported alternatives.
