Spacetech startup Akashalabdhi raises $1.2M pre-seed for deep-space mapping

Akashalabdhi, a Bangalore-based spacetech startup incubated at the Foundation for Science, Innovation & Development (FSID) at IISc, has secured $1.2 million in a pre-seed funding round. The round was backed by investors including Uday Chatterjee, Romesh Sobti, LVX (formerly LetsVenture), 1Crowd, and Riceberg Ventures.
Akashalabdhi specializes in deep-space imaging and mapping, building small-satellite and sensor technologies aimed at gathering high-fidelity data for environmental, disaster management, and scientific usage. Its current focus is on refining sensors and optics, creating compact payloads, and enabling frequent launches to supplement Earth observation capabilities.
With increasing demand for space-based intelligence in both the public and private sectors, the startup’s raise is significant: it helps accelerate indigenous capability in satellite mapping and remote sensing. This positions Akashalabdhi among a rising cohort of Indian deep-tech startups working at the intersection of space, sensors, and data.
