VyomIC secures ₹14 Cr pre-seed to build sovereign LEO navigation system

VyomIC, a Chennai-based deep-tech startup working on low-earth-orbit (LEO) navigation systems, has raised ₹14 crore (~$1.6 million) in a pre-seed round led by Speciale Invest. The startup is building a sovereign navigation system aimed at security, defense, and global positioning autonomy.

The funding will support R&D, prototype development, and initial test deployments to validate positioning accuracy and system resilience under real-world conditions. By combining satellite data, local sensors, and custom chips, VyomIC is targeting a strategic niche in global GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) alternatives.

With geopolitical demand rising for indigenous navigation capabilities, VyomIC’s approach speaks directly to national security, dual-use systems, and cutting-edge satellite infrastructure. If successful, it could reduce dependence on foreign navigation services for critical applications.
